Recently, Austin was sent a clip from a get-together at a local church from a supporter of Amber Brantley. Brantley is running for district attorney in Augusta-Richmond County, seeking the Democratic nomination against current DA Jared Williams.  Here's Austin's take on the local DA:

Austin's Argument About Jared Williams

Austin: I've said before, Jared Williams loves to go into the schools and read stories and all these things, and that's, you know, I'm not going to ever bemoan or complain about PR work that's done by our elected officials or judicial officials. But if he thinks that's really doing anything in a substantial way compared to what he could be doing to make the streets of the CSRA safer and better, then I mean, he's sadly mistaken. I don't know any other way to put that, but he's a guy that does not, to my knowledge, have any children and maybe doesn't understand how raising kids works and who the primary gatekeepers of a child's behavior are.

It's not school officials. If the child has not been taught correctly by the time they get to kindergarten, the damage has been done. And particularly given the fact that, you know, you're only in school, even if you're, you know, a righteous student who goes every day he or she is supposed to. You're only there five days a week for approximately, what, six and a half, seven hours a day of instruction time? And, that pales in comparison. And there's just not a relationship there between educators and students the way that there should be between students and parents or the people raising them.

But let me let me share with you what Jared Williams said to this forum. Looks like it was held in a church. And again, I apologize for not knowing exactly where this was, but many thanks to Erica for sending this to me and listen to what Jared has to say and then we'll hear what Amber Brantley has to say.

Jared Williams: It's one thing to say I want to go into the schools it's another to actually have been in the schools even before you took the office. It's one thing to say that you want to serve. And then when someone extends an offer for you to work and serve in this circuit, you say you can't pay me enough. And then as soon as the circuit splits, you go work there.

Austin: I mean, stop it right there. So he was making the accusation, Jared was, that Amber Brantley refused to go to work in the Augusta Judicial Circuit and then went to work somewhere else for the same money or less, or something like that. And Amber corrected him very quickly. And this is Amber's response to him.

Amber Brantley: I was contacted to work in the Richmond County District Attorney's Office, and Mr. Williams took office, and he told me to send him my resume and my desired pay. And I sent that. And I never heard anything back.

Austin: Never heard anything. She never heard anything back. This guy allowed a ton of great people to get out of his office. And he ran most of them off. But Mckenzie Gray is the one that really, and Amber. Amber is right up there. McKenzie Gray is another one, though McKenzie Gray was cited as being this area's top gang enforcer, anti-gang enforcer, and had more working knowledge of street gangs than any other prosecuting attorney in the area, and Jared Williams did not want her working in his office.

She was immediately hired by another D.A. in another district. This was before the formation of the Columbia County District. She would have been offered a position there, but she went to work in another. Was it Toombs County? Shame on me for not knowing off top of my head. But it was close by. And when the Attorney General found out that she was missing from the Augusta area because Jared Williams didn't hire her, remember she was told she was not going to be retained because he wanted "A more diverse workforce." He wanted a black lady. Now, Amber, to her credit, is black.

But apparently he didn't want just a black lady. He wanted a black lady that was going to kiss his fanny. And he didn't even get back to Amber. Amber went straight to work for Bobby Christine and is doing a great job. She was awarded the title Best Assistant D.A. in the state, but Jared Williams couldn't find the time to offer her a position. But Mckenzie Gray is the one that really grabbed me because her expertise was greatly needed, and because she was a woman and not a black woman, he didn't want to hire her.

And by the way, Jared, you want to doubt me on this that come straight from McKenzie, that comes straight from every other prosecuting attorney I know in the area that talked to me about this. They all say that about you and that's how you are sharp. That ain't the way any elected official ought to behave. You ought to be putting the best person for the job. In the job. Now, if everything else is equal. In other words, you've got two great prospects, or even two great prospects, and you want to give the black person the slight advantage over the white person. It's going to be hard for me, or anybody else for that matter, to argue that. But when you've got people who are clearly. Better than others and you choose not to hire them. Dude, you're the problem.

Those of you in Richmond County that are in favor of locking up bad guys and dangerous criminals, you've lost your damn mind. If you want to keep Jared Williams in office, you really have. You've lost your damn mind. And, Shaun Edwards, I hope you're out there listening. Or somebody that can tell Sean. For me, this is the chump I was questioning. I question you too, chump, and it's a Justin Richards. That's who I am, Shaun. And you are being questioned left, right, sideways and backwards about your business dealings. Chump. Junior.

You run great people like Amber off your run great people like McKenzie off Jared Williams. And you have the audacity to say that because you meet with chairman and read them books, that you're making an impact. Dude, go to KinderCare. You can help yourself all day. You can read Curious George. You can read Horton Hears a Who all day long. To those folks, you need to leave the criminal prosecutions to the career prosecutors in the people who got in it because they liked it and because they had a passion for it, not because the criminal defense attorneys of Augusta, Georgia, set him up with a sweet deal. That's how you got in the job, chump. That's how you became de champ.

And Amber Brantley. You're not qualified to polish her shoes. Chump! Amber Brantley is a prosecutor. A career prosecutor, chump. You are not qualified to shine her shoes. Chump in a legal sense. You're not. Now, when it comes to prosecuting, you're not. You can't hold a candle to her. Can't hold a candle to McKenzie Gray. And yet there you sit. You people in Augusta ought to be ashamed of your damn selves. And by the way, Pat Clayton. That blood's on your hands, too, Bubba. Chump.

We got a lot of chumps were calling out today, and I put Pat Clayton on the chump list, too, because the instant that your boss, Richard Roundtree, came out against Natalie Paine as DEA. You should have been in his office to say, hey, I understand you don't like her, but have you lost your damn mind, Sheriff? You didn't say that, Pat, because you didn't have the balls or the backbone to say it. And truth be told, you don't like Natalie either. So you wanted your own fella in there. And guess what you got him in. Public safety has sucked. Comparatively speaking.

As a result, people are dead. That would be alive. Good people, innocent people. Criminals that should be incarcerated are wandering the streets right now. Pat Clayton, because of you and Roundtree allowing and promoting that waste of space. Jared Williams. It's De in Augusta. You know how proud I am to tell you that. A very strong law and order. Democrat, black female is what's needed to clean up Augusta, Richmond County and not some, you know, conservative white bread or my friend's cat. Easy to pick

A Solution To The Problem?

So anyway. Bottom line. I'm thrilled to death to be able to tell you the solution to this problem in Augusta, Richmond County. Again, ain't nobody. This side of of Judge Alito. Some old white guy. No, it's a young Democrat, progressive black female named Amber Brantley. And she's better than Jared Williams. She's smarter than Jared Williams. And unlike Jared William, she has clean hands in the fight against crime.

Anybody in Columbia County was bring Pat Clayton out here. You need to have your damn head examined. You need to have your damn head examined. He and his team and his side helped contribute to that abortion down there in the Augusta DA's office. And he has the audacity to turn around to Amber Brantley and say that, you know, she's not doing what she needs to do, and she left the circuit to go do this, that and the other thing. Screw you, buddy. I mean, what a chump. And I cannot state loudly or clearly enough how goofy that is. Amber Brantley refute what Jared Williams said about her not wanting to come to work in the Augusta Judicial Circuit. There. And that then needs to be said and said ridiculously in loop.

And I say that because you people in Richmond County need to understand what that chump did to your DA's office. He ran off great people for no reason other than they weren't his own boot lickers. And we have suffered as a result. There are a couple of good people down there. I'm not knocking the whole office, but Jared Williams himself has got to go. And if you're not bright enough to see that, then I question whether you're bright enough to come in out of the damn rain. You got a black female progressive Democrat who, unlike Jared Williams, who is a black liberal progressive male, had experience solid experience as a successful prosecutor long before she decided to run for D.A.

She wasn't put up to it by the number one enemy of prosecutors in the state, and that's the criminal defense bar. I'm talking about professional adversary, not personally adversary. But that's who put Jared Williams up to run - people that he could cut deals with, people who he would cut deals with. And man, has that paid off. Give credit where credit is due. They made an investment in Jared Williams election and its has paid off like nobody's business. Organized crime chiefs. Gang bangers. There's a reason if they get arrested, they want to get arrested in the Augusta circuit versus another one, because if you have the right attorney, you can connect with Jared Williams and deals are cut. No doubt about that. No doubt about that.

Thank God in heaven, the judges know and understand what's going on, and they're on the lookout for bad deals, and they've caught a few of them. Jared, to his credit, has been called out on his. Blank. His crap. And instead of attempting to defend it, which he knows better than to do, at least with somebody like me. He's he's he's trying to do better, there's no doubt about that. He's trying to keep whatever deals he does cut as quiet as he possibly can keep them. And the most dangerous criminals are the easiest and the most obvious to prosecute. He he makes a big showing of that.

Hey, God bless it. Hip Hip Hooray, blind pig and acorn, that kind of thing. But you do not want someone who takes criminal prosecution as anything other than their life's work in that position. We had that with Danny Craig. We had it with Ashley Wright. You had it with Natalie Payne. And then for some stupid ass reason, the Democrats of Richmond County tossed Natalie Payne out. Damn bunch of fools. Damn bunch of fools. And you have paid for it with the blood of your own people. Hope you're happy. Hope you're happy.
