New Performing Arts Theatre In Augusta Is Open After Two Years Of Delayed Construction
Flowing Wells Theatre is now open! There is very minimal things that need to be completed. The theatre will also function as an outdoor and indoor venue.
The construction of this theatre started back in 2020. Carol Rezzelle kept the community very informed on the progress and updates of the Flowing Wells Theatre in a very unique way – by uploading a diary submission of the progress to their various social media accounts.
Flowing Wells Theatre Updates
Diary 1 entry started with the process of finding land, while the latest diary entry up to this point here, talks about the final touches.
The theatre can accommodate up to 150 people. It has been equipped with professional lighting, sound, and projection equipment. The theatre will also have a concessions area with refreshments and merchandise for sale.
The Flowing Wells Theatre will be the Home of Enopion Theatre Company, and host live theater, dinner shows, and movies. The Enopion Theatre Company moved into the new theatre at the end of October, and the members of the children’s theatre classes recently had a performance and reception in the new space.
Again, this is an indoor and outdoor venue. The outside will have Vignette areas Including a “Pine Straw Stage” with seating Puppet House Picnic Area and a walking Trail.
In just two weeks the theatre will have its showcase of its first performance by the Enopion Theatre Co.’s. It is a dinner theatre show called The Cure. A dinner theater format, only allows seating for 80 people in the theater. The show will start November 30, and will go on between November 30 and December 9.
A grand opening celebration is planned for in the spring of 2024. With major construction also going on on Flowing Wells Road, where the theatre is located, the construction has caused a delays. One being the push back of the debut which was initially planned for Spring of 2023.
