Deadly Shooting Thursday Night at Downtown Augusta Convenience Store
Another shooting at a convenience store in Richmond County has resulted in one death.
Deputies were called to the Mom & Pop store in the 2000 block of Broad Street around 7:30 p.m. Thursday where one person had been shot.
Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen says 55-year-old Ricky Cooper of Parnell Street in Augusta was shot at least one time. He was taken to Wellstar MCG where he died a short time later. An autopsy has been scheduled.
Investigators haven’t released any other information about the shooting yet.
Earlier this week, four people were injured in a drive-by shooting at Paul’s IGA on Greene Street. So far, no one has been arrested in that incident.
