Bear struck and killed by car in Aiken County
A bear was killed when it was hit by a car early this morning on Edgefield Highway in Aiken County.
The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office got the call just before 1:00 am. The car hit the bear in the 2200 block of Edgefield Highway. Authorities had to shut down a portion of the road for over an hour while emergency crews were on the scene.
Authorities say the driver received minor injuries.
