October is Star Wars Reads Month and Augusta Libraries are Getting in on the Fun!
Back for the 12th year, it is Star Wars Reads Month! Which is a celebration of reading and the galaxy that starts October 1 till October 31.
This initiative was launched back in 2012 by George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars franchise. The goal of the initiative was to engage students in the importance of reading by using Star Wars as a spark. Today there are hundreds of Star Wars Reads events that take place around the Country and Augusta is one of them!
Augusta Richmond County Public Library System has events planned for the entire month of October for Star Wars Reads through each library in the county.
Here is a list of events that will be taking place at the Augusta Library – 823 Telfair St, Augusta.
All month long October 1 – 31 there will be a Star Wars Reads Silent Auction going on. The proceeds from the auction will benefit the library’s Star War Reads activities. Bids can be made online at here and payments will be due after the auction closes on October 31.
