Atlanta Named One Of The Best Beer Cities In America
When you think of the term “beer scene,” often a place with a wide array of breweries and friendly pubs come to mind. USA Today 10Best recently dove into major beer scenes across major markets. They found that Atlanta ranks as one of the top beer cities in America.
“Stellar collections of established and up-and-coming breweries, beer bars, brewpubs, beer festivals, and even thriving homebrewing communities where novice brewers can get their foot in the door” is how 10Best describes the attributes of those cities that ranked in the top 10.
Not only was Atlanta the only city in Georgia to be named, it was one of just two in the south.

Grand Rapids, Michigan, takes the crown as the best beer city in America. Minneapolis, Minnesota just snuck in at #10. What’s encouraging about Atlanta’s placement is that it appears the city is supporting small businesses’ brewing efforts. 10Best states, “Atlanta’s craft beer scene has exploded in recent years, thanks in large part to numerous newcomers opening up their taps each year.”
Furthermore, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution explains, “There are now more than 50 breweries and brewpubs that serve their own craft beers in metro Atlanta, with several more slated to open in the coming months.”
Atlanta Beer Festivals is your one-stop shop for all relative beer event information in the greater metro area. They state their initiative is “helping Atlanta celebrate beer.”
