Podcasts are now more popular than ever before. Even so, it made its way into the Augusta police community. The Richmond County Sherriff's Department has started up a podcast that will give them another way to connect with the community. The podcast is called “On Scene with RCSO”, and anyone can tune in.

Chief Clayton and Sheriff Roundtree wanted a way to tell their stories but at the sheriff's office. Co-host Lieutenant Kimberly Lee submitted the idea that they should do a podcast. Lt. Lee and Lt. Lucas Grant are the hosts.

The goal of the podcast isn’t just about introducing the public to members of the department, but to get the information out to the community so that they can stay informed. It is a chance to create a space of transparency.

The podcast launched 9 weeks ago and they have already had a few guests come on the show.

New episodes are dropped every Monday.
