GOOD VIBES: Tim Tebow’s Mission To End Human Trafficking
Football star and all-around good guy Tim Tebow turned 33 last week, and only had one birthday wish.
His Tim Tebow Foundation is on a mission to end human trafficking, and in lieu of presents for his birthday, Tim asked that people instead support his foundation’s rescue efforts.
In an op-ed for Fox News, Tebow talked about his passion to rescue victims and end the human trafficking movement–an industry that traps an estimated 40 million victims and generates $150 billion dollars each year.
Tim’s first knowledge of human trafficking came in his mid-twenties, when his father rescued four overseas victims by paying all the cash that he had in his pocket. After “purchasing” the young women, the Tebow Foundation built a safehouse for them.
That initial rescue effort turned into a larger mission by the Tebow Foundation, one that continues today.
“Meeting some of these survivors in person has been more than just a privilege; it has literally been life-changing,” Tebow says in the Fox News op-ed.
The Tim Tebow Foundation’s 3-step solution to fight human trafficking includes not only rescue missions, but multi-faceted support for victims after rescue, including physical care, mental health care, emotional & spiritual support.
“Though a solution to human trafficking can be daunting to consider, we serve a God for whom nothing is impossible,” Tebow says on the Foundation’s website.
