Winning Lottery Ticket Purchased in Beech Island
A winning lottery ticket for last Thursday’s Palmetto Cash 5 drawing was purchased in Beech Island, according to South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
The lucky winner gets the game’s top prize of $211,000. The winning numbers from Thursday’s drawing were 1, 2, 7, 25, 29.
Lottery officials confirmed the ticket was purchased at Ye Olde Grocery at 4444 Jefferson Davis Highway in Beech Island. The store gets a commission for selling the winning ticket
The winner has 180 days to claim the prize and can still retain their privacy. South Carolina is one of 11 states, including Georgia, that allow lottery winners to remain anonymous.
Other Recent Lottery Winners in Aiken County
Winning lottery tickets have been appearing lately in Aiken County since the beginning of 2024.
Two $2 million winners bought tickets at Circle K stores in Aiken once the new year began.
In early January, the first “$20 Millionaire’s Club” scratch-off ticket was purchased at Circle K at 1014 E. Pine Log Road. Then the second $2 million winning ticket was purchased at the Circle K at 2948 Whiskey Road, about four miles away.
On March 30, 2024, someone purchased a lottery ticket at Kroger on Whiskey Road in Aiken that turned out to be worth $50,000. Lottery officials said the ticket was one number shy of winning the Powerball grand prize, which would have been just under $1 billion.
In early April, someone purchased a lottery ticket worth $1 million at the Quik Trip station at 930 Edgefield Road.
Evans had a Recent $2 Million Winner
Late in March, a Martinez resident bought a “100x the Cash” scratch-off ticket at The Pumping Station at 4370 Evans-to-Locks Road in Evans. Two weeks before that, a ticket purchased at Publix on Washington Road in Evans was also worth $2 million.
The next Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday at 11 pm. The jackpot is worth an estimated $560 million, the 9th largest ever.
The next Powerball drawing is tonight at 10:59 pm. The estimated jackpot is $171 million.
