Evans-Based Grill Company Introducing New Products
There is a very successful Evans-based grill company introducing a couple of new products.
The folks at Rec-Teq, which is headquartered in Evans make wood-fired pellet grills, as they say, providing customers with a cleaner grilling experience.

Now, they are introducing two new products. First, the SmokeStone 600. Rec-Teq says the Smokestone is the industry’s first – and currently only- wood fired griddle. There are other manufacturers out there offering griddle attachments or conversion kits, but Rec-Teq’s SmokeStone 600 is Wi-Fi-enabled and the remote-control model is equipped with a permanent stainless-steel griddle surface instead of the traditional cooking grate.
Then, they’re also introducing the DualFire 1200 as the world’s first only all-wood-fired dual chamber grill. The two individually controlled cooking chambers allow for direct in indirect flame cooking.
In the current line, their Flagship 1100, Deck Boss 590 and Backyard Beast 1000 models have been upgraded with more durable legs, better wheels and a more intuitive controller.
RecTeq CEO Ralph Santana said in a statement “Wood-fired flavor from high-quality products is what our loyal recteq family loves, which is why we remain focused on innovation and developed the only wood-fired griddle and all-wood-fired dual chamber grill. We are dedicated grillers helping grillers, and we want to make grilling easy with intuitive technology.”
RecTeq, which was started by Ron Cundy and Ray Carnes fourteen years ago is one of the great local success stories. Their grills are now all over the United States and the world. They now find themselves on “Best Pellet Grill” lists constantly.
I can tell you this from personal experience. The son of my oldest friend bought one a few years ago and loved it. Used it all of the time. He had no idea that the company was based here in the CSRA, until he began doing a little more investigating because he was looking for some more pellets. When he realized where they were based, he texted me asking if I knew anyone at the company. I put him in touch with someone and he got his pellets and then some. Oh, by the way, he also got some accessories from us as a wedding gift. He still loves his RecTeq.
