Winning a large sum of money once in the lottery is great.  But this North Carolina man doubled his lottery winnings just two years after his first big win.

Pharris Frank, of Advance, North Carolina, won one million dollars back in July 2021.  And less than two years later in March 2023, he bought a $20 scratch-off.  That lucky ticket doubled his previous winnings, with a jackpot of $2 million!

According to the NC Education Lottery website, Frank called his wife to tell her he "did it again." Frank works in construction and was working out of town when he bought the winning ticket.  He says his first win back in 2021 was on a ticket he bought 2 miles from his house.  But this year's winnings came from a store 4 and a half hours away.

One crazy part about this story is Frank had a feeling he'd win big again.  He said the day prior to winning, he had a friend asking him how it felt to win $1 million.  And that's when Frank told the friend he "was going to double it."

Even though he had the feeling he would win again, he still was shocked when he actually did.

When collecting his winnings, Frank could choose to receive the money as an annuity of $100,000 over 20 years, or a lump sum of $1.2 million.  Frank chose the lump sum, and after taxes, he took home $855,006.

After his win back in 2021, Frank used the money for his dream wedding.  Now he plans to take his wife on a nice vacation.
