Man Sought for Ambulance Theft in Augusta
A Gold Cross EMS ambulance was stolen late last month in Richmond County and the Sheriff’s Office has released surveillance video of the man they say is responsible for the theft.
Investigators say a Gold Cross employee notified the sheriff’s office at 2:30 a.m. February 25 after spotting one of the company’s ambulances parked in the 1400 block of Walton Way.
While reviewing the security video from the Gold Cross office on Wheeless Road, employees saw a man take the ambulance around 1 a.m.
Although the ambulance was recovered, authorities are still trying to identify the man seen in the video.
If you have any information that could help identify him, contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 821-1080 or (706) 821-1020.
