Man’s Stepson in Custody for His Murder
A call for a mental evaluation leads to the arrest in a fatal stabbing in Augusta.
Richmond County deputies went to the home on Madison Lane Sunday evening where they found a homeless man identified as 38-year-old Marcus Banks, who told them he wanted a body in the home removed.
Deputies found the body of 79-year-old Clarence Flanigan, dead from a stab wound to his upper body. Banks, said to be Flanigan’s step-son, has been charged with Murder and Possession of a Knife During the Commission of a Crime.
The victim’s body will be autopsied at the GBI Crime Lab.
