Elderly Man Fatally Stabbed and Beaten in Augusta

The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of an elderly man in Richmond County on Sunday.
Seventy-nine-year-old Clarence Flanigan of the 4000 block of Madison Lane in Augusta was stabbed at least one time and beaten in his home, according to Coroner Mark Bowen. He was pronounced dead just before 9 p.m.
An autopsy has been scheduled at the GBI Lab.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says no other information is being released yet.
