Teen Arrested in Gang-Related Shooting in Grovetown
A gang-related shooting earlier this weekend in Hall’s Mobile Home Park in Grovetown is under investigation.
Grovetown Police and deputies from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 200 block of VFW Road just before 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Witnesses told authorities 18-year-old Keith Campbell had traveled to Grovetown to collect money he says he was owed by several of the victims.
Campbell reportedly fired several shots at four people who were trying to confront him. No one was injured, but investigators say a parked vehicle nearby was hit by bullets.
Campbell was found a short time later and was taken into custody. Authorities say he had 11 debit cards that had been taken during a burglary.
Investigators say Campbell, who is believed to be a member of the L.O.E, Loyalty Over Everything gang reportedly said he was going to shoot the victims in the name of the gang.
He’s been charged with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Criminal Street Gang Activity, Criminal Attempt-Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, Financial Transaction Card Theft, and Reckless Conduct.
Campbell is being held in the Columbia County Detention Center.
