Suspect Arrested in Deadly Shooting at Sleep Inn
Arrest Made in Sleep Inn Murder
Richmond County authorities have made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting last month at a Richmond County motel.
Investigators say 62-year-old Barry Monoochee Lew, who was homeless, was shot January 8 at the Sleep Inn in the 1000 block of Claussen Road. His body was found in a motel room there and authorities say he had been shot at least one time. He was pronounced dead at Augusta University Medical Center.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Demorea Wallace has been arrested in connection with Lew’s death. Wallace was arrested February 1o and charged with kidnapping and murder.
Authorities say the case is still under investigation.
