Vehicle Flipped on I-20 EB Exit Ramp Leaving One Dead
One person was killed in a single vehicle accident early this afternoon on the I-20 eastbound exit ramp to Bobby Jones Expressway.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says 57-year-old Matthew Lowery of the 1300 block of Gordon Highway lost control of the vehicle before it hit several objects before coming to rest upside down. Authorities confirmed Lowery was ejected through the windshield. Emergency responders performed CPR, but he died at the scene.
No one else was involved in the accident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
