Double Fatality Sunday Morning in Richmond County
Man Charged with Hit-and-Run Death of Pedestrian on Mike Padgett Highway
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is investigating the deaths of two people early this morning following a single vehicle accident on Mike Padgett Highway at Hephzibah McBean Road.
The report from Coroner Mark Bowen says 62-year-old Robert Allen Salter of Piney Grove Road and 18 -year-old Joshua Campagnari of Jackson, South Carolina died at the scene of the accident at 1:59 a.m.
Authorities say the two were in a vehicle headed east on Hephzibah McBean Road when the driver failed to stop, crossing over Mike Padgett Highway. The vehicle came to rest after hitting a building.
No autopsy will be done.
No other details have been released yet.
