Two Georgia Breweries on 10Best List
Craft breweries continue to pop up all over the United States each year. In fact, the Brewers Association website lists over 150 craft breweries in Georgia, and 118 in South Carolina. And the demand for craft beer is continually growing. The Brewers Association shows U.S. beer volume sales up 1% in 2021. But for craft brewer volume sales, there was an 8% growth. That growth brought small and independent brewers’ share of the beer market in the U.S. up to 13.1%. And when it comes to new breweries, USA Today’s 10Best sought out the best new breweries in the country. They looked at breweries that had opened within the past 4 years. And two Georgia breweries made the 10Best List!
Georgia Breweries on 10Best List For New Breweries
Little Cottage Brewery
Coming in at number 6 out of 10 is Little Cottage Brewery. This brewery is in Avondale Estates, Georgia, just east of Decatur. They are a heavy metal-themed brewery. And they describe Little Cottage as “small batch brews with a passion for big flavors.

And on top of this brewery being named on the 10Best List, Avondale Estates was named the “Best Small Town Beer Scene in the U.S.”
Inner Voice Brewing
Right ahead of Little Cottage on the list is Inner Voice Brewing at number 5. This brewery is located in Decatur. They have a variety of craft beers – from traditional IPAs and stouts to more experimental brews.

Augusta Breweries
While none of our local breweries made the list, Augusta does have a couple!
Several of their craft beers have received national and local accolades. And the brewery is a great place for a fun evening with friends or family. Also, the taproom provides a direct view of the brewhouse.

They transformed an old warehouse into their small production brewery. It’s owned by Brey and Anne Sloan, who were determined to give Augusta their own craft beers after the infamous brew prohibition on the city was lifted. They have three core brews, along with limited releases and experimental brews.
