Georgia Football Player Arrested for DUI
A Georgia football player was arrested on Sunday morning. Javon Bullard, a starting defensive back for the Bulldogs was charged with DUI and six additional misdemeanors.
According to the Athens Banner-Herald, the following statement was released by University of Georgia Athletics: “We are aware of a recent reported incident involving Javon Bullard. We are limited in what we can say, but the report is disappointing and is not reflective of our standards. In addition to University disciplinary processes, we will address the incident internally according to Athletic Association policies.”
Based on the information provided from the Athens-Clarke County’s online jail log, Bullard was booked at 4:57 a.m. on seven charges: DUI (alcohol) under 21 years of age with a concentration of 0.02 grams; license to be carried and exhibited on demand; improper turning; furnishing, purchasing, and possession of alcoholic beverages as a person under 21 years old; failure to maintain lane/improper driving on road; not using lighted headlights and other lights when required; and physically holding or supporting — with any part of his body — a wireless device. All seven charges are considered misdemeanors.
He was released on bond.
Bullard isn’t the first Georgia football player arrested in 2022. Kenny McIntosh and Warren Brinson were arrested in April.
