Shipley Do-Nuts Coming to Georgia
Shipley Do-Nuts is an iconic Texas do-nut brand that is expanding into Georgia in 2022. The company has been making gourmet, made-fresh-daily do-nut for over 85 years. The brand recently signed a deal to open 30 additional locations. The first in Georgia will be in Duluth, later this year.
History of Shipley Do-Nuts
Shipley Do-Nuts was founded in Houston, Texas back in 1936. They have more than 60 varieties of their fresh-made do-nuts. In addition to their plain glazed do-nuts and other varieties, they also have coffee, kolaches, cinnamon rolls, bear claws and more.
Expansion of Shipley Do-Nuts
The company is rapidly expanding their brand across the Southeast, including recent addition in South Carolina. The CEO of Shipley, Clifton Rutledge, calls these recent additions “an important milestone for our growth strategy.” Rutledge adds, “We welcome our new Georgia franchisees to the Shipley family and are counting the days until our first Georgia shop opens.
Franchisees Behind Shipley Do-Nuts Expansion in Georgia
There are two franchise groups involved in the expansion of Shipley Do-Nuts. The two signed an agreement back in mid-March to open up to 25 locations. One of the franchisees is from the Atlanta-area, but discovered Shipley Do-Nuts when he moved to Dallas. He recognized the brand love that Shipley’s has in Texas and immediately knew he wanted to help grow that brand in other locations.
The other franchisee was introduced to the brand through his brother who had moved to Texas and couldn’t stop raving about the do-nuts. As an investor, he was looking to expand his portfolio and saw the Shipley expansion as a great opportunity.
Additional Franchisees
Shipley Do-Nuts’ growth is happening at a fast-pace, with agreements in place for more than 350 new locations over the next 5 years.
The company is looking for additional franchisees in new markets, as well as exsisting. For more information, visit their website.
We’re hoping they add a location in the Augusta area! Just recently, we also learned that the Canadian brand Tim Horton’s is adding locations in Georgia. Would you rather have a Shipley Do-Nuts or Tim Hortons in Georgia?
