BREAKING NEWS: One Person In Custody After Shots Fired in Grovetown
One person is in custody after shots were fired at a vehicle in Grovetown last night. The driver, Reakwon Watson of Aiken, was shot in the leg. A passenger in his car, 18 year old Tyreius Wakefield of Aiken, was unresponsive when deputies arrived. He died later at Doctor’s Hospital. Columbia County authorities say 21 year old Shaunta Kemp was seen walking out of a wooded area nearby with a firearm in the vicinity.
Meanwhile, Grovetown police were called to Lynbrook Way to a report of shots fired. James Chatman allegedly fired shots at the car Watson was driving minutes earlier. Chatman was identified through a neighbor’s surveillance camera. Charges haven’t been announced yet.
