In today’s 20/20 Sports with A.B., he talks about Katie Ledecky’s gold medal win last night at the 2024 Olympics, the US beating South Sudan in basketball, and your latest baseball updates.
Ashley Brown: Well for the second straight night, one of the top US women’s Olympians leads the way for the United States team. First, on Tuesday night, it was Simone Biles leading the way as the U.S. won gold in gymnastics.
Last night it was Katie Ledecky. She wins her eighth gold medal overall, her 12th total medal. She wins easily in the 1500-meter freestyle. She has no plans to retire. She says she is eyeing the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The US beat South Sudan in basketball 103 to 86. They’re now two and 0 at the Olympic Games.
Also in baseball, the Braves beat Milwaukee 6 to 2 as Matt Olson and Travis d’Arnaud go back to back with home runs twice in that game. The Braves now host the Marlins tonight at 7:20.
Also in minor league baseball, the GreenJackets struggling of late. They’ve lost ten straight. They fall to Down East last night 6 to 2. Those two teams play again tonight at SRP Park at 7:05.
