Willie Mays Passing, Braves Vs Tigers, and More – 20/20 Sports With A.B.
Ashley Brown: Well today, the baseball world mourning the loss of one of the all time greats, Willie Mays, passing away at the age of 93. Mays was a 24 time All-Star. He finished in the top six in the MVP voting 12 times. He was also a 12 time Gold Glover, and he’s the only player in Major League Baseball history to finish with over 3000 hits, a 300 batting average, 300 homers, and 300 stolen bases. He finished with 660 homers altogether.
In baseball action from yesterday, the Braves beat the Tigers 2 to 1. Atlanta’s now won five of six. Spencer Schwellenbach got his first career major league victory in that game. The Braves will host the Tigers today for a day game at 12:20.
And in the NHL Stanley Cup Finals, Connor McDavid had two goals and two assists as Edmonton for the second straight game avoids elimination and losing the finals. They win 5 to 3. Game six is set for Friday. Florida still leads the series three games to two.
