Free Clothing Tuesday Through Salvation Army Drive
Free clothing will be available Tuesday, October 29, at the four Salvation Army of Augusta stores to help those who are still trying to recover from the effects of Hurricane Helene.
The event is being made possible by a donation from The Pros Fore Clothes Foundation, a nonprofit group that redistributes gently used golf clothing to those in need.
Free Clothing Available at 5 Salvation Army Locations
- River Watch Family Store: 4099 River Watch Parkway in Augusta
- South Augusta Family Store: 3206 Peach Orchard Road in Augusta
- The Kroc Center of Augusta: 1833 Broad Street in Augusta
- North Augusta Family Store: 1751 Knox Avenue in North Augusta
- Thomson Family Store: 2115 Harrison Road SE in Thomson
Hours Tuesday are 10 am to 2 pm, or while supplies last.
For those who are still in need after the giveaway, Salvation Army of Augusta officials remind residents that the organization’s clothing voucher program through the Center of Hope works in conjunction with their stores to ensure families have access to the essentials they need. Clothing vouchers are available Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the Center of Hope at 1384 Greene Street in Augusta. Those vouchers can be used any day of the week, with the exception of Sundays, at any of the Salvation Army Family Stores.
About The Pros Fore Clothes Foundation
The Pros Fore Clothes Foundation was the idea of Lauren and Charlie Schuyler, who met while attending Penn State University. Both played golf there and realized they had accumulated a lot of gently-worn golf clothing, outing giveaways and staff uniforms. The couple realized all those things could be put to good use by helping those in need.
The Schuylers said they wondered then how many PGA Golf Professional were in the same situation and the idea for the Pros Fore Clothes Foundation began.
