Georgia might be called the Peach State, but another fruit isn’t far behind. USA Today just released their 10 best apple orchards in America. Georgia has one ranked 2nd best!
Blue Ridge, Georgia is home to Mercier Orchards. It’s known for their U-Pick Apple Event that begins each August and continues through October.
According to their website, Mercier is all about family. The Merciers, Bill and Adele started the tradition in 1943, and they have passed it down for generations.
They have just about every kind of apple baked good from pies to apple bread. They even have apple cider doughnuts.
The Mercier family also believes in giving back to the community and supporting local groups.
