As of 11:59 PM tonight, it’s officially springtime in Augusta and Aiken.  Winter is over but don’t let the fact that it’s officially spring fool ya.  It can still get cold and we can have a freeze in March and sometime early April.

Meteorologists start spring on March 1st, but that kind of back fired this year as a big snowstorm hit the mid-west, and to them, it wasn’t spring.  We’ve had some pretty warm days lately and we’ve seen the pollen falling like snow here. We have a few days forecasted coming up where it will get down into the 30s and one day only into the 50s for highs.

The Benefits Of Spring Time In Augusta And Aiken?

Since it’s officially springtime in Augusta and Aiken, it’s time to start planting flowers, getting the grass ready, and getting outdoors.  Time to hit the playgrounds, the golf course, and tons of other outdoor activities.  It’s time to get out and enjoy some of the great events we have every spring.

  • That Little Spring Golf Tournament
  • The Augusta Market
  • Spring Wing Fest
  • The Augusta Craft Beer Festival At SRP Park
  • Easter
  • The Evans Market

Now that we’ve gone through the time change, and it’s now springtime in Augusta and Aiken, just know that the sun will not set before 6:00p until around October 18th.

It's that time of the year

Now that Spring has sprung, we do have to put up with this for a few more weeks, but it will get better. It’s nothing a little Zyrtec, Xyzal, or Claritin can’t help with. It’s without a doubt, Spring Time In Augusta and Aiken

So now that it’s officially springtime in Augusta and Aiken we have so many things planned to get outside and have some fun with.  Take advantage of the fun things we have to do here in the CSRA.  Even if you don’t get out to one of these great events below, we have so many fun things like the North Augusta Greeneway for walking, the canal, the River Walk and so much more.

So grab the family, gather up some of the best friends you can find and let’s go explore what we have to offer right here at home.

The 4th annual Spring Wing Festival is Saturday.  Live music, cold, beer, a corn hole tournament, bounce houses for the kids and so much more.  Come enjoy the day and find out who’s going to be crowned the Augusta Wing Off Champion and take home the cash prize of $1000.00.

  • The 2nd Annual Aiken Brunch Festival

This was so much fun last year being apart of the very Aiken Brunch Festival.  The streets of downtown Aiken were filled with food vendors, and live music everywhere you went.  Looking forward to this fun day.  It’s one of the first festivals in Aiken in the spring.  So grab ya pup, your better half, let’s eat and have some fun in downtown Aiken.

  • The Augusta Craft Beer Fest

This is one of the events that we love to call the official kick-off of Spring.  This year’s date is April 27th from 1p to 5p at SRP Park in North Augusta.  Around 30 local and regional breweries are on site for you to sample of the best beers around.  I’ve found several great new beers over the past few years at the Augusta Beer Fest.  This past year was Twisted Tea!
