I can think back to being just a little kid and making home Christmas decorations. I don't remember the exact year but I couldn't have been more than 6 or 7 and making homemade candy canes. It was just one red and one white pipe cleaner twisted and a glue gun to seal the ends. These candy canes were on every family Christmas tree until just before my mother passed around 15 years ago. She gave me the candy canes and now I put them on my tree every year. These homemade candy canes have been on a tree that I've had for almost 45 years of my life.
