Are you or someone you know looking for work?  Last week we posted about the 25 best employers to work for in Georgia. Now, it's time to highlight South Carolina!

The Pandemic's Effect

The pandemic led to many people re-thinking their careers and jobs.  Companies had to pivot and readjust the way they did business.  Many people lost their jobs due to downsizing, or the company having to shut down completely.  Other companies were able to allow more flexibility, and offered work from home opportunities.

Then there was the "Great Resignation."  People began leaving jobs in droves. Fed up with tough work environments, or seeking the more flexible opportunities.  The pandemic truly changed corporate America.

Now, many employers are looking to hire.  Yet, many are struggling to find reliable and hardworking employees.

Survey of Employers

Forbes partnered with Statista for their annual list of America's Best Employers By State.  We took a look at Georgia last week, and this week, we gathered up some information on South Carolina.  Because we can't forget both states that are part of the CSRA!

The survey was conducted between October 2020 and June 2021.  There were 80,000 Americans surveyed.  This employees work for companies of at least 500 people.

On this list, many local companies you may be familiar with! For instance, Savannah River Site, which is headquartered in Jackson, South Carolina, came in at number 52.  Aiken County Public School District also made the list at number 47. Chick-fil-A, which is headquartered out of Atlanta, still made this list at number 35 as a great employer in South Carolina as well.
