The Atlanta Braves are ready for another road trip. This one will be for a White House Visit. The  team will be recognized for their World Series Championship. This will be the first time the organization has has made the trip to Washington for a Presidential visit in almost 30 years.

According to ESPN, the team will visit with President Biden before the 2022 regular season wraps up and playoffs begin.

The Braves last visited the White House in February 1996, following their 1995 championship.

Who was the first sports teams of any level to visit the White House? According to Yardbarker.com, it wasn’t a team from the United States.

In 1957, President Eisenhower met with the Industrial Little League of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The team won the Little League World Series. It was the first time that the series included an international team, led by Angel Macias. The young man threw a perfect game.

The first U.S. Team to visit the White House was the 1962 Boston Celtics. The team met with President Kennedy on January 31, 1963. The 1984 and 2008 Celtics also visited The White House.

Keep in mind that  not every team gets an invite and not every team accepts the invitation, for various reasons.
