Bob Barker, the legendary host of The Price is Right, died August 26 at age 99. Now, his cause of death has been revealed.
Per Barker's death certificate obtained by TMZ, Barker's cause of death was due to Alzheimer's disease. The tabloid noted Barker never went public with his diagnosis. While it's not certain when Barker was diagnosed with the brain disorder, TMZ reports Barker's death came "years" after his diagnosis.
As previously reported, Barker's death was confirmed by his publicist Roger Neal. He said in a brief statement, "It is with profound sadness that we announce that the World’s Greatest MC who ever lived, Bob Barker has left us."
Barker's television hosting career spanned over 50 years. He hosted Truth of Consequences for 18 years, with his tenure beginning in 1956. Barker, of course, earned legend status as the host of The Price is Right. He hosted the iconic daytime game show for 35 years, from 1972 to 2007.
