Two locals qualify for Drive, Chip and Putt Finals at Augusta National Golf Club

Two local competitors will join the field of 80 junior golfers at the 11th Drive, Chip and Putt Finals at Augusta National Golf Club this April. Shane Stickland of Aiken, South Carolina will compete in the Boys 7-9 group and Colton Johnson of Appling, Georgia will compete in the Boys 12-13 group. Strickland qualified at the regional qualifier at the Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs, Tennessee and Johnson qualified at the Sea Island Golf Club qualifier in St. Simons Island, Georgia. Conducted in partnership with the USGA, the Master Tournament, and the PGA of America, Drive, Chip and Putt is a nationwide youth development program open to both boys and girls ages 7-15. The finals are held every year at Augusta National Golf Club the Sunday prior to the Masters Tournament. Finalists advance through local, subregional, and regional qualifiers.
