Austin: The air is thick with pollen all over the CSRA. In a few weeks, the air will be thick with golf balls just off Washington Road. That being said, it's time to remind everyone, if you have tickets to that wonderful golf event on Washington Road, do not sell them. Don't sell them. Just don't do it.
If you're lucky enough to get a ticket from Augusta National that you bought and paid for, share it with your friends and family. Share it with your mother-in-law. Share it with your boss. Do not sell it for profit particularly.
And if you do, because God forbid some people actually choose to do that, don't be stupid enough to sell your ticket to someone who's been caught reselling them and who's gotten into massive legal problems because of it.
One of those guys was advertising himself on the Internet as being willing to buy your tickets for his own personal use. His name is Joe Mullins, and he's been featured in several lawsuits through the years, shortchanging people that he promised to sell tickets to.
In the meantime, those very tickets were shown to the Augusta National at some point, and anyone who originally bought those tickets had their rights permanently taken away from them. They are banned for life from buying tickets from Augusta National because of Joe Mullins. Included in that group are Mullins' own former in-laws.
That's right. The mother and father of his ex-wife were on that list, and they can no longer buy Masters tickets because of Joe. How about that? So folks, just listen to me now and believe me later. If you sell those tickets, you risk getting caught.
If you risk getting caught, you will never, ever, ever get the opportunity to buy those tickets from Augusta National again. If it's worth it to you, take a chance. Just consider yourself warned, like I try and do every single year. Enjoy the tournament for sure. If you choose to profiteer from it, you're doing it at risk of your access to further tickets.
It's as simple as that. Good luck and behave. And that's the comment. I'm Austin Rhodes. 95.1 FM News Talk, WGAC.
