House fires in Richmond and Aiken Counties have claimed four lives since early Sunday morning.

The Aiken County Coroner's Office was called to a house fire in the 100 block of Taylor Pond Road in Graniteville at 11:54 pm Sunday.

Coroner Darryl Ables said two people were pronounced dead at the scene at 1:08 am today.

"The victim's names will be released after positive identification and notification of next-of-kin," said Ables.

The Coroner's Office and the Aiken County Sheriff's Office are investigating.

Autopsies will be performed in Newberry this week to determine the cause and manner of death.

Firefighters were called to the 4400 block of Etterlee Road in Blythe, where the structure was fully engulfed in flames.

Once crews were able to get inside the home, they found the bodies of 80-year-old Henry Logan and 80-year-old Carole Logan.

Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen said both were pronounced dead at the scene at 2:00 am.

Autopsies have been scheduled on both bodies.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
