Georgia And South Carolina Stores Closed on Thanksgiving

There are quite a few Georgia and South Carolina stores closed on Thanksgiving this year.

Thanksgiving is a day to spend with your family and friends.  And while that's not ideal for everyone, we're sure the employees of these stores are glad to have the day off to enjoy with their families too.

Sure, it may not be convenient if there is something you absolutely have to have on Thanksgiving Day.  But hopefully, you've prepared ahead, and won't need to head out to the stores on Thursday.

Don't get us wrong, shopping is fun... but let's leave that for Black Friday!  That way more people can spend the day with loved ones before the true madness begins!

Over the past few years, there has been a lot of back and forth on when stores would open for Black Friday.  It kept getting earlier and earlier... until eventually, stores started opening on Thanksgiving Day! But something has changed.  We have to wonder if some of it has to do with 2020 when the pandemic kept people away, and the stores realized it was going to be okay to close for ONE day!

The holiday season will be crazy enough.  We appreciate the fact that many of these stores are opting to close on Thanksgiving Day to show appreciation for their employees and give them a break!

According to this list from The Black Friday, here are some Georgia and South Carolina stores closed on Thanksgiving Day:

It may come as a shock, but yes, Walmart will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.  They will reopen at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.

Walmart has already begun their online Black Friday sales.

Best Buy will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and reopen on Black Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.  But, their online Black Friday sale already started on November 17 and goes through November 25.

Target stores will be closed on Thanksgiving.  They reopen on Friday at 6 a.m.  And their online Black Friday sale is already going on- November 19th through November 25th.

Kohl's is closed for Thanksgiving.  Black Friday store hours start at 5 a.m. And they have already started their online Black Friday sales as well, which will go through November 24th.

Your home improvement projects will have to wait. Lowe's is closed on Thanksgiving, but reopens on Friday at 6 a.m. But, if you must... their online Black Friday sale starts 12 a.m. on Thursday!

Sam's Club is closed on Thanksgiving, and will have regular store hours on Black Friday.  Online Black Friday sales have already started though!

JCPenney will be closed on Thanksgiving, and open at 5 a.m. on Black Friday.  The online Black Friday deals have already started (November 17 - November 26). And they were named the best place to shop on Black Friday!

Macy's is closed on Thanksgiving.  They reopen at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.  Online Black Friday sales started on Sunday, November 19th.

Thanksgiving Day, GameStop will be closed.  Their Black Friday hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. But those online Black Friday deals start at 12 a.m. on Thursday!

The Home Depot is closed for Thanksgiving, and reopens on Black Friday at 6 a.m. Online Black Friday sales start at 12 a.m. on Friday!

Costco is closed on Thanksgiving, and won't open until 9 a.m. on Black Friday.  However, their online Black Friday sales do start at 12 a.m. on Thursday.

JoAnn, the fabric and craft store, will be closed for Thanksgiving.  Their Black Friday hours start at 6 a.m. And online Black Friday sales have already started and go through November 25th.

Ashley HomeStore is closed on Thanksgiving. Their Black Friday hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. They do have some deals now, and a 24-hour in-store only exclusive on Wednesday, November 22nd!

Conn's is closed on Thanksgiving and open 7 a.m. to midnight for Black Friday.  Their Black Friday online deals start at 6 p.m. Wednesday, and some other early access doorbusters are going on now.
