Some Richmond County school buses weren't able to make it to some of their regular bus stops this morning.

That's because of a road closure along Peach Orchard Road and Tobacco Road where Hurricane Helene cleanup efforts are underway.

The Richmond County School System says those who live in the Pepperidge community area were affected as well as the following schools:

  • Cross Creek High School
  • Gracewood Elementary School
  • Pine Hill Middle School

"For all other routes, please expect delays as our bus drivers navigate the roads as safely as possible to transport students to school," according to a statement from the Richmond County School System.
