As many of you know now, my favorite beach trip is to Folly Beach, SC. It's a little over 3 hours from my home in North Augusta. This past weekend, I was riding some backroads and realized I was less than an hour away from Folly, and I headed that way to check out the new South Carolina coastal pier that opened. It just opened a few months ahead of schedule.

New South Carolina Coastal Pier Is Open

The pier operating hours are currently 8 am to sunset (operating hours vary throughout the year). Amenities at the Folly Beach Pier include restrooms, the Pier 101 Restaurant and Bar, beach access, showers, and the Gangplank Gift & Tackle Shop.

The new pier will have a life of about 65 years and is built with concrete, but plenty of wood, too. It still looks like a Folly pier should look.....a little old school and laid back. Also, if you plan a trip this month, the pier will be closed again for a few weeks because they are paving the parking area, so call before you go!

I hope yall check it out soon....you'll love it! I plan to go back soon myself! See you on the pier!
