Don't get me wrong, Augusta and its surrounding cities have a lot of fun places to enjoy, currently.
We've got Dave and Busters, Stars and Strikes, Bowlero, Urban Air, Defy, and so many more!
But what about those fun places that were around in the early to mid-2000s, that used to be here?
So many memories were made at these places in the CSRA. See if you can remember these attractions in Augusta that no longer exist.
Funsville
This was a indoor/outdoor mini amusement park, that started out as Funsville and was later renamed Adventure Crossing in 2008. There were Go Karts, Laser Tag, Miniature Golf, Arcades, and food. It even had a roller coaster! It was really a one-stop fun shop for all ages! They closed there doors permanently in 2016.
Planet Xtreme
This was a great spot for teenagers to hang - well really any age. They had arcade games, food, and use to specialize in laser tag. This was located near the Augusta Mall.
Before it was Plant Xtreme, it was called Starcadia and Q-zar.
AMF Masters Lanes
Bowling is always a go to when thinking of something to do for fun. While there are still many bowling options in the CSRA, there use to be one located at 1810 Gordon Highway in Augusta.
Augusta Ice Sports Center
The ice rink has closed some time ago and was replaced with a trampoline park. The trampoline park was Airstrike, but later changed its name to DEFY. It closed for good back in 2014 - leaving ice hockey players and skaters without a local venue.
Krystal Rivers
Did you know that Augusta used to have a water park? I didn't either! It closed back in 2003 and the city hasn't had a water park since.
Fort Discovery
This was a place to discover everything related to science. It was a very hands on museum for all ages. Many schools would be sure to take a field trip to this spot at least once out of the year.
Normans Electric Galaxy
I don't know much about Normans, but I do know it is still remembered by many. Normans Electric Galaxy was a video hall operated by Norman Bolus. Not only was he a businessman, he also was a poker champion, winning the seven-card stud split event at the 1990 World Series of Poker.
The game room was located on Washington Road and closed in 1991, because at home consoles became so popular.
