Austin’s Daily Commentary – Barrow County School Shooting On Wednesday

Austin talks about the 14-year-old who has been charged in the Barrow County School shooting that occurred on Wednesday. [audio mp3="https://wgac.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/39/2024/08/20240905-adc.mp3"][/audio] Transcript: Austin: Such a disturbing story out of Barrow County yesterday. And as information is beginning to filter out in the media, I've picked up some information that might be explanatory as to why we know so little about this young man, and why the authorities may have given him a break last year when he came under investigation for making online threats, posting pictures of weapons, perhaps one of which was used in the shooting yesterday. Thirteen years old last year, when this young individual apparently made threats in an online chat board or chat room. Again posting pictures of firearms at the same time. Authorities sent to this young man's house where they interviewed his father. The father admitted to having hunting weapons, but said the child had no access to them unsupervised and apparently not enough was said online, and not enough information was in hand with the authorities to actually prosecute the kid further. By the way, that child was taken out of the Jackson County school system and put into the Barrow County school system, perhaps as a way of avoiding further trouble. Not sure about that, but that's the talk up in Jackson County. Also, there are some troubling aspects to this young man's background. The 14 year old, who has been charged. Some very troubling aspects that have not yet been identified factually, either by media or by the authorities. Stay tuned. There may be a politically incorrect or politically correct reason, depending on how you look at it, that some of this information is not making its way out. We saw similar circumstances occur in the Nashville Elementary School shooting a while back. The authorities didn't want to get specific about certain mental conditions suffered by the attacker in that case. Be very careful that we don't tiptoe our way around political correctness in this situation and end up putting people at risk. That may have been what happened here. Lots of information to come. Still an awful lot of of information to get through. But again, the authorities knew about this child. They did not take aggressive action to stop him for some reason.
