Riley Reese launched Little Lamb Necessities to accept baby and toddler donations once Prepare for Babies shuttered its warehouse. The old group shifted gears to maternity housing. This new nonprofit opened just weeks ago and operates from Woodlawn Baptist Church.

Reese built this ministry alongside her pastor when she heard about the warehouse closing. "I called my pastor and told him about it and he said he has been praying about a babies ministry too so it worked out perfectly," Reese said to WRDW. "Prepare for Babies closed its doors on donations, so it was God working out and telling me this needs to happen."

The group serves families with babies up to five years old. They provide clothes and food. Expectant mothers get maternity items too.

"Little Lamb Necessities is a nonprofit and ministry that gives moms a chance if they are in trauma situations or if they didn't get a paycheck that month or if they are homeless," Reese said.

Reese wants to connect with families in person, not just hand out supplies. "We're sharing the love that only Christ has for you, and we are just trying to be the hands and feet of Jesus to be there to physically help you," she said.

Help exists. Reese wants every parent to know that. "Everyone needs help so it's just a matter of putting you and your baby first and letting people that want to help you, help you," she said.

Little Lamb Necessities needs toddler clothing. New or gently used works. Shelving is another big need since donated items keep piling up.
