A new statewide radio system now links first responders across Georgia. The network runs on Southern Linc's LTE tech, bringing together scattered communication channels into one unified platform.

This upgrade stretches radio signals far beyond previous limits. Workers in the field can now track events using just one device, while the system lets them talk to teams across state lines at the push of a button.

"By further connecting state and local partners through this innovative project, we've strengthened our ability to respond swiftly and effectively to crises, deliver essential services and protect the well-being of Georgians across the state," said Governor Brian P. Kemp, according to a Southern Linc press release.

Southern Linc built this system using their CriticalLinc LTE platform, combining L3Harris radio gear with Catalyst Communication gateways to bridge old and new systems.

The Georgia Department of Public Safety, Natural Resources, and Homeland Security, along with the city police, county sheriffs, and fire crews have also switched to the new system.

Southern Linc President and CEO Bentina Terry spoke about the milestone: "This project represents a bold step forward in helping to ensure seamless, reliable and secure communication across our state and across the country, particularly during emergencies and critical operations. We are delighted to bring it to Georgia," Terry said.
