Austin talks about Linda Parnell getting arrested and charged for throwing coffee in the face of another official.

Austin: In Washington, DC, it's Republicans and Democrats that don't get along constantly trading barbs, and every now and then they come to blows, but thank goodness not very often. At least not as often apparently as it happens in Columbia County where a Republican party official was arrested over the weekend and charged with attacking not a political adversary, but a political partner, believe it or not.

That's right. At the Columbia County Republican party get-together Saturday morning, Linda Parnell, a party official, has been charged with throwing coffee in the face of another elected official, excuse me, another Republican official, who's a former elected official. That's right.

Dewey Galeas, a former Columbia County commissioner, was the victim in all this. What prompted the confrontation? I'm really not quite sure. We're hoping to have Galeas on the radio show this afternoon. Maybe he can tell us what happened, but there is video footage of Miss Parnell clearly throwing the liquid in Galeas' face. Again, Galeas filed a report with the Columbia County Sheriff's Department.

Miss Parnell has been charged with battery, her mugshot taken. She's going to be on the cover of the Jail Report we hear. At least she's a candidate for that. And, well, how we've got the full video coverage at the Austin Rhodes Show page on Facebook. Again, you expect Republicans and Democrats to go at each other, but Republicans on Republicans?

By the way, Miss Parnell has a bit of a contentious history with the local party. As a matter of fact, at one point, she was asked to stay away. I'm not sure how that was quite resolved, but, well, this afternoon, we'll get into it a little bit more. Columbia County party politics. We don't have enough Democrats to be mad with, so the Republicans fight with each other, apparently.

More details this afternoon. Can't wait. And that's the comment. I'm Austin Rhodes. 95.1 FM News Talk, WGAC.
