Austin: It should come as no surprise that the minions in the mainstream media are really trying their best to make this tariff increase talk that President Trump has initiated some kind of doomsday notion, meaning that higher prices are about to hit everyone. The economy is going to crash. It's gonna be a terrible time for everyone. Inflation's gonna take off. Not so fast.
That didn't happen under the first Trump administration. Remember, Donald Trump was the very first American president to say that China was no longer a third-world nation, and they needed to be taken off of the third-world status that granted them so many advantages in financial trade, the financial markets.
I mean, it's unbelievable that China, up until President Trump's first term, was being given discounts, advantages, and a foot up because they were viewed as a quote, unquote, third-world country. Trump put an end to that as well he should.
Other countries that need to be delivered from that status, like India, for instance, they wanna paint themselves as poverty-stricken. India is not poverty-stricken. India has an incredible economy. Lots of folks over there working very hard, and, it's time that punitive tariffs against American goods flowing into into India be completely lifted. So far, the leaders in India are receptive to those conversations.
Somebody was asking for examples the other day. How about this? A 100% tariff on every motorcycle from America sold in India. Why is that? No idea. You know what the tariff is on Indian motorcycles being sold in America? Two Percent. So you've explained that to me, and you know how popular motorcycles, two-wheel transportation is in general. In India, there's a huge market over there.
So, again, President Trump's gonna address these things, a tit for tat, policy when it comes to tariffs. If other countries remove their tariffs, we'll remove ours, and vice versa.
If they've got 100 percent tariffs on our goods, we'll hit them with 100 percent tariff on theirs. It is simply fair play. Stay tuned. And that's the comment. I'm Austin Rhodes. 95.1 FM News Talk, WGAC.
