Austin breaks down what he thinks is happening with Trump’s Gaza proposal.
Transcript:
Austin: I had to very humbly admit yesterday in this commentary space that I had no earthly idea what Donald Trump’s end game was with the Gaza proposal that has created quite the stir. And of course, as your self-appointed Trump whisperer, it was a personal responsibility of mine, at least I feel that way, to let you know and explain to all you folks out there exactly what the Trumpster means when he does some of the things that he does that are rather strange and or inexplicable.
Well again, having studied it for a full 24 hours, I come to you this morning knowing full well what I think he’s done. That’s right.
So what Donald Trump is hoping to do with telling the world that he is hoping for a United States ownership and development of the Gaza Strip is to really shame the stakeholders from Gaza to come up to the table, step up to the table and describe exactly what they’re going to do to redevelop and rebuild Gaza and also what their responsibility is to maintain the peace there.
We’ve kind of forced their hand now. If we’re not going to do what we have described doing, who is and how are they going to execute it? It kind of puts everyone on the spot. The Palestinians were aghast and many of America’s own allies just didn’t understand. Oh my goodness, this is imperialism. This is colonialism. We can’t have this at all.
Okay. Well, if America is not going to step up and take care of that region, who is? what’s the plan and exactly how bad do they want to do it?
My goodness gracious, the conversation has begun. And by the way, some folks are actually taking responsibility for the fate and the development of that region and the ongoing security of it in ways they never thought of before. Uh, two weeks ago, everybody’s just standing around twisting their twiddling their thumbs, twisting in the wind, not having a plan. Now people are starting to get one.
Trump’s forced our hand. And if they don’t act, they know America’s ready to step in. The man’s crazy like a fox. I’m telling you. And now you know the rest of the story. And that’s the comment. I’m Austin Rhodes, 95.1FM News Talk WGAC.
