20/20 Sports With A.B. – CSRA High School Football Returns, Major League Baseball Playoffs, and More

In today’s 20/20 Sports with A.B., he talks CSRA football returning last night, upcoming college football games tonight, and the New York Mets are headed to the Major League Baseball Playoffs.

Ashley Brown: Well, high school football returned to the area last night, a rare Wednesday night game due to scheduling changes from Hurricane Helene. Not a good night for the Evans squad, though. They lose to Effingham County 35 to 7. Evans falls to two and three on the season.

We’ve got college football tonight. Coastal Carolina at James Madison, Louisiana Tech hosts Middle Tennessee State and UTEP is at Western Kentucky.

And in the NFL, a couple of teams coming off a disappointing loss last week. San Francisco fell at home to Arizona. Seattle fell at home to the Giants. Those two play in Seattle tonight. San Fran, two and three, Seattle three and two. The 49ers are at three and a half point favorite.

And in the Major League Baseball playoffs, the New York Mets are headed to the National League championship series. The Mets win their series over Philadelphia three games to one. Taking game four last night, 4 to 1. Francisco Lindor, all the offense in New York needed with a grand slam in the sixth.

Ashley Brown, or A.B. as he’s known, is a sports commentator, columnist, and broadcast veteran. He was born and raised in the Augusta area. A.B. attended Lakeside High School and graduated in 1989. After high school, he attended Columbus State University on a basketball scholarship.

A.B. moved back to Augusta after college, where he began his career in talk radio. He continues to provide sports updates for WGAC, while also working as the Director of Customer Service at recteq.
