In today’s 20/20 Sports with A.B., he talks about a college football upset, NFL opening weekend, and more.
Ashley Brown: Well, massive upset over the weekend in college football. About a 30-point underdog, Northern Illinois paid $1.4 million to come play Notre Dame in South Bend, and they beat the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame falls from number 13 to number eight in the latest polls.
Georgia remains number one after their easy victory over Tennessee Tech. Texas moves up to number two after beating Michigan. Ohio State’s 3. Alabama and Ole Miss round out the top five.
In the NFL, opening weekend, yesterday, it was both the Panthers and Falcons losing. Carolina lost to New Orleans 47 to 10. The Falcons lose at home to the Steelers 18 to 10. Last night, Detroit scores in overtime to beat the Rams 26 20. And tonight the Jets are at San Francisco, where the 49ers are a three and a half point favorite.
In baseball, the Braves rallied to beat the Blue Jays 4 to 3 in extra innings. They host the Reds tonight.

Ashley Brown, or A.B. as he’s known, is a sports commentator, columnist, and broadcast veteran. He was born and raised in the Augusta area. A.B. attended Lakeside High School and graduated in 1989. After high school, he attended Columbus State University on a basketball scholarship.
A.B. moved back to Augusta after college, where he began his career in talk radio. He continues to provide sports updates for WGAC, while also working as the Director of Customer Service at recteq.
