Austin: Just when you thought Trump Derangement Syndrome couldn't get any worse, the president of the United States has come down with it as if he doesn't have enough problems. And so now, on top of dementia, President Biden is dealing with, TDS. What in the world is happening?
Well, we all know what's happened, the Supreme Court of the United States issued a ruling that was favorable to the president's position as he's facing charges across the spectrum. But, pretty much, charges set up specifically to derail his presidential aspirations for this coming November.
Bottom line, again, the overreaction is thick and, quite frankly, silly. Sadly, though, these people are in power right now, the Democrats in Washington, DC, and they could create a lot of problems if, in fact, we're not able to, allow cooler heads to prevail.
I cannot imagine, I cannot imagine that there is serious conversation about bumping the Supreme Court to, what, 15 members? Something like that, simply because the left feels like they've been taken advantage of by the conservatives being in control of the Supreme Court right now. How many years did we live with liberal rule over the Supreme Court? Many, many in my lifetime.
Look, the ruling from the Supreme Court yesterday on presidential immunity in certain professional and official situations is very clear. If the president of the United States commits an egregious crime that's not related to his official duties, he is going to be prosecuted and removed from office. That's the reason that we have the impeachment powers that we have over the president of the United States.
In the meantime, Biden is doing anything he can to celebrate the anger against Donald Trump because he's trying to save his own skin. And again, I think we've got a combination of Trump Derangement Syndrome and dementia going at the same time with Biden.
Let's hope and pray that cooler heads prevail in D.C.. The president's role in all of this, as far as his immunity goes, has always been spelled out in the Constitution. The Supreme Court merely just explained that further. They're giving him no extra power. To me, they're just clarifying what was already clear policy. And that's the comment.
