15th Street Shooting in Augusta Leaves One Dead: Victim Identified
A 15th Street shooting Friday morning in Augusta left a man dead.
Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen said his office was called to the 1500 block of 15th Street at 7:45 am. It was the parking lot of DuraMed Medical Service. Bowen said he had been shot at least one time and was pronounced dead at 8 am.
Bowen said the victim has been identified as 30-year-old Marc Whitehead of the 1300 block of Druid Park Avenue.
An autopsy has been scheduled.
Whitehead’s death has been ruled a homicide.
So far, no other information has been released from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
