A Grovetown couple is behind bars, accused of trying to solicit males in the area to have sex with their two-year-old daughter.

The Grovetown Police Department got a Cybertip recently that originated from the online chat platform called "MeetMe."

That's where investigators got the tip that a person or persons were trying to solicit males to have sex with their young daughter.

"The investigation revealed that 26-year-old Ashley Crawley had been creating sexually explicit "content" and selling it on various online apps. Some of this content was created with her children being deliberately present in the videos for extra money. The youngest of these children is 2 years old," according to a news release from the Grovetown Police Department.

Chief Jamey Kitchens said a further investigation revealed that the children's father, 29-year-old James Tripp, was also involved.

"Tripp was making plans and seeking permission from Ms. Crawley to engage in intercourse with his own 2-year-old biological daughter," according to Kitchens.

The children were removed from the home and turned over to the care of the Division of Family and Children Services.

Parents Arrested and Charges They are Facing

  • Ashley Crawley: Child Molestation (2 counts); Computer or Electronic Pornography (1 count); Child Exploitation and Prevention Act of 2007
  • James Trip: Criminal Attempt-Incest (1 count); Criminal Attempt Child Molestation (1 count)

Crawley and Tripp were arrested Wednesday and are being held in the Columbia County Detention Center.

Kitchens said the investigation is continuing and more charges are expected.

"The Grovetown Police Department remains committed to identifying and arresting those in our community that prey on our children," said Kitchens.
