Homicide and Suspicious Deaths Reported in Richmond County: One Victim Identified
A homicide was reported early this morning in Augusta, while officials are also investigating what the Richmond County Coroner’s Office says was a suspicious death on Friday.
Coroner Mark Bowen was called to the parking lot of the Dollar General store in the 1700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard early this morning where one person was pronounced dead.
Bowen said the victim appeared to have died from multiple blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at 5:45 am.
The victim was identified as 28-year-old Elias Jkhael Delk of Augusta.
An autopsy has been scheduled.
Homicide Follows Suspicious Death Friday in Augusta
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office was also called to the report of a death late Friday afternoon that officials say is suspicious.
A homeless male was found dead in a wooded area near the I-520 east bound ramp and Windsor Spring Road.
The victim was pronounced dead at 5:45 pm
An autopsy has been scheduled.
The victim’s name will be released once a positive identification has been made.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office hasn’t released any information about either incident yet.
